Wicked Rain

(A collection of Tanka: 5-7-5-7-7)

Looking for trouble
Instead trouble has found you
For that is the fate
Of the foolish conjurer
Calling upon the wicked

Why call attention?
To bizarre lights in the night?
They take you aboard
Probing your mind and body
Visits from a world afar

Hearing the rainfall
As candles burn through the night
A storm in the mind
Winds howling in the darkness
While we sleep in joyful peace

An urge for knowledge
Driven eternal passion
With joyful seeking
I'm filled with great excitement
No end in sight, just desire

Oh how the sky falls
Dark clouds make the day seem night
The cold numbs my skin
Yet still I see wonderful
Fantastic Winter and rain
